about

In 1999 Stayin' Alive was sampled released by a rapper. I can't remember who, but they were big at the time and this re-release was big. Stayin' Alive was playing everywhere. I always thought the original video for the song was quite seedy in a very 70's disco way. One night I was stoned and the chorus for The Stalker was born behind a blaring stereo playing Stayin' Alive during a conversation about how seedy and deviant the original video came across. I then proceeded to right the rest of the song around the chorus theme and we put the song to a disco drop D tune with the big sinister bluesy riff in the bridge. Vwah lah - The Stalker.
