I wrote Break Me as an observation of the changing social environment around me and the disappearance of familiar faces and friends who had taken up different paths. I had never heard Perfect Circle, however there is one of their songs which has exactly the same riff in it. I ended up using the riff again in Storm of the Century on Gatecrash The Hate Campaign.
