Animated Pill

This album is where the idea of JMC started. I had a Gibson SG special during 1999 and early 2000 which is what I wrote most of the music on for this album. I had a few mad experiences including an acquaintance's fatality which sparked some of the inspiration for this album. At this point Soul Drive was back in existence which is how John came to perform during the recordings of this album. Later The Ballad of Absent Friends became part of a new Soul Drive release and recordings of songs from this collection have appeared at later points as this collection was an experiment for me. Animated Pill has a great guitar in it. I had two Stacks( a marshall jcm 800 and my own Laney with Sound City cabinet) with a split signal from my stereo chorus. We set my delay pedal so that one of the stacks was playing only the delay and the other was playing the true signal. In the head phones the guitar spins and at point sounds as if it's being played backwards for that authentic ecstasy vibe.

This album is dedicated to the memory of Mark (Pants) Stewart.
